It’s that time of year again, summer is blazing forward and August has already snuck up on us. Classic car lovers rejoice knowing that their favorite event is just around the corner. Reno,  “The Biggest Little City in the World,” is gearing up for yet another year of Hot August Nights. Since 1986, this has been a place where car lovers from all over could come and gawk at some of the most beautiful classic cars all in one place. The heat doesn’t even seem to phase these crowds as they wander through the streets of Reno.

The exciting show of cars starts in Virgina City before it makes its way downtown to Reno. This pre-party, if you will, will feature cruising events, live entertainment, a poker walk, and more. It’s a good start to prepare you for the exciting week ahead. Then, you can make your way over to the official kick-off party for the event, at the Peppermill Resort.  Starting off with the ‘Mill Mile Cruise’, you’ll see classic and specialty cars on display followed by a Show-n-Shine judging. They will have a free outdoor concert featuring Beatles Flashback and Dusty Miles & the Cryin’ Shame. At the end of the night, you can watch as they announce the finalist’s awards for that evening’s Show-n-Shine.

Through out the week, you’ll be able to catch many exciting events for every type of car lover in your house! Nightly cruises adorn the streets of downtown Reno, so you can be sure not to miss any of the great cars. Take a trip down memory lane to the Vintage Trailer Revival and gaze up trailers from 1976 and earlier. For the wild ones, there will be an autocross & drifting course where you can catch the infamous Australian driver, Stewy Bryant. Many Show-n-Shines will be going on throughout the week, as well as various competitions at different venues. There is even a new venue for the ladies called Dazzling Diva featuring 200 booths of ladies clothing, accessories, purses, and handbags.

In the evenings, after you’ve had your daily fill of classic rides, you can boogie down. The Grand Sierra Resort will set the stage for Rick Springfield Friday, August 11th, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts Saturday, August 12th. These are just a couple of the great performances you will be able to catch, and most of the shows even have free admission.

Be sure to get yourself to Reno, where you will feast your eyes upon over 10,000 stunning, classic cars. This family friendly event, with delicious food, unique gorgeous cars, and a plethora of entertaining activities to keep you busy. Sunday, there is even a prize purse that is out of this world for the winner of the top 50 elite. Create lasting memories this year at Hot August Nights – August 8th – 13th, 2017.
