The Velocity Network has been airing SEMA’s Battle of the Builders since 2015 and it gives car enthusiasts the opportunity to see what really goes into these competition rides. The designers have the opportunity to share their journey, through film and on-air interviews, with fellow automotive dreamers alike. This year over 300 builds were entered and widdled down to a select 12.

A 1929 Ford Model-A Tudor, built by Troy Trepanier, was crowned the winning title of the 2017 SEMA Show Battle of the Builders. Troy has taken this gorgeous machine, owned by Dennis Mariani, and powered it with an all-aluminum small-block with a five-speed transmission.  It is also equipped with a Halibrand quick-change rear axle and  Excelsior Stahl Sport Radials from Coker Tires.

This outstanding Ford just beat out a couple well-built runner-ups. A 1963 Packard Roadster, built by Troy Ladd, and a 1932 Ford Tudor, built by Alan Johnson were the other two finalists. These three rose to the winning circle over the remaining nine. A 1963 Chevrolet Corvette by Eddie Pettus, a 1930 Ford Model-A Coupe by Andy Leach, a 1932 Ford Tudor by Alan Johnson, a 1936 Graham 97 by Mike Markin, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette by Scott Roth, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro by Phil and Jeremy Gerber, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro by Jeremy Miranda, a 1957 Chevrolet by Larry Griffey, a 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera, and a 1995 Ford Bronco were the other nine outstanding machines.
