[00:00:00] Will Ford Have to Sell?
It is not a good time for business, especially for auto manufacturers. JoshCAR Hollywood Car Consultant, Josh Hancock, shares a Forbes article claiming that Ford will only last until September if this madness continues. If the COVID-19 lockdown continues until September, experts say that Ford may have to sell. Do you think we’ll see Ford throw in the towel?
[00:05:56] Now is the Time to Buy
Everybody has to stay at home, even the news anchors, which means they have to work from home as well. JoshCAR Hollywood Car Consultant, Josh Hancock, thinks it’s funny to see people doing actual news broadcasts from their kitchens with their personalized home decor and artwork on display in the background. In other news, the car market is in flux, with cars selling at wild prices. If you have the money right now, it’s time to buy up stock as everything is discounted. Plan ahead and you can resell at a good profit. Tune in for more.
[00:12:31] How Will Premium Car Brands be Affected?
JoshCAR Hollywood Car Consultant, Josh Hancock, says a lot of premium car brands, like Rolls-Royce and Bentley, are more than likely going to struggle through this pandemic; especially when gratuitous displays of wealth will garner you some ill will. A lot of people are cancelling their Corvette orders, as well as other new car orders in general. Do you think the current luxury car market will survive COVID-19?
[00:19:52] What if I Can’t Make My Car Payment?
People are losing their jobs right now and that could cause them to miss a couple of car payments before they can find a new job. Autotrader Executive Editor, Brian Moody, advises us to contact the agencies that hold our car loans and inform them of the inability to make payments, they will probably be understanding and work with struggling borrowers. If you aren’t strapped by this pandemic, then keep your eyes peeled; there are a lot of amazing deals to take advantage of if you’re looking to buy a car. From no payments for a certain period of time to 0% interest deals, it’s a good time to buy a car.
[00:28:32] The 12 Best Cars of 2020
Just because there’s a global crisis, doesn’t mean the automotive industry hasn’t put forth some high quality automobiles this year. Autotrader Executive Editor, Brian Moody, shares some of his favorites from an Autotrader list of the best cars for 2020. Starting off the list, we of course have the Kia Telluride, which is probably the best SUV on the market for price and value at this time. The Kia Telluride has casual car buyers hooked in a way that isn’t seen often. Next up, the Hyundai Sedona, meant to compete with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, comes packed with features and technology and is an excellent mid sized sedan. Also from Hyundai, the Palisade is a sister vehicle to the Kia Telluride, and very comparable in most ways. The, we have the Lincoln Aviator, which is the only luxury car on the list, because it is just that good. Being a luxury vehicle, it’s main issue is that it is just so pricey and is out of reach for most people. Tune in to learn more.
[00:35:53] What is the Best 2020 Full Size SUV?
There are a lot of midsize SUVs on Autotrader’s Best Cars of 2020 list, but what about full-size SUVs? Autotrader Executive Editor, Brian Moody, says they did a great job on the new 2020 Ford Expedition, and it’s worth a look by any prospective buyers. With fresh cosmetic features the Expedition is looking great! Continuing the list of best vehicles for 2020, the Jeep Gladiator is the truck everyone wanted, and the controversial 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette is making huge waves.
[00:42:14] How Amelia Island Concours Got Lucky
The Amelia Island Concours dodged a bullet this year, although they almost didn’t. Classic Car Expert and Member of the Amelia Island Concours Board, Dick Messer, recounts how THE PLAYERS Championship approached them about switching the date of the event, trading March 14th for March 5th. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as they were able to hold the event successfully the day before all hell broke loose. Better lucky than smart, as Dick says. Tune in to hear more details.
[00:48:46] Are People Ready to Mix and Mingle?
As we ponder the chances of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance getting off the ground, we hit another quandary: Will people even be motivated to go out to an event like Pebble Beach? Classic Car Expert and Amelia Island Concours Board Member, Dick Messer, is very skeptical of people’s willingness to go out and subject themselves to crowds of people, even if governments around the world give the all-clear. Due to the nature of COVID-19, it’s hard to really know who does and who doesn’t have it. We also consider the economic ramifications. Tune in as we discuss.
[00:54:45] Classic Car Market in Free Fall
Even before the Coronavirus pandemic hit, the classic car market was struggling to find its footing. Cars from the 50s, 60s, and 70s were found to be less desirable. Classic Car Expert and Amelia Island Concours Board Member, Dick Messer, can’t imagine that people are going to be any more inclined to purchase from an already failing market now that we have a global crisis on our hands. When it all comes down to it, Dick warns us to beware of the person who says they know what’s going to happen, because nobody has a clue. It’s gonna be a buyer’s market, get your checkbook ready if you’re looking to pick up on some great deals.
