We have Classic Car Expert and Director of the Petersen Automotive Museum, Dick Messer, kicking off today’s show with us! Dick and Alan chat about the craze this pandemic has caused for travelers, and also about their opinions of the electric Vs. gas-powered vehicles. Dick is becoming quite the fan of the ease of maintenance the electric vehicles offer while Alan is all for gas-powered vehicles. However, they both agree that Tesla’s are great vehicles and they look forward to seeing the new electric-powered Cadillac that is coming out. Up next we are joined by Steven Cole Smith, Automotive Journalist for Autoweek, Automobile Magazine and Grassroots Motorsports. Steven and Alan discuss the popularity of print magazines with the internet offering real-time updates. They also talk about NHRA and NASCAR both struggling from restrictions brought on by Covid-19. Several major races have been canceled or rescheduled and everyone involved is suffering because of it. NHRA is potentially losing a major sponsor, Mello Yellow, over it and a lawsuit to save it has been started. Joining in next we have George Kennedy, Co-founder of Cartender and Freelance Automotive Journalist for CarGurus, Boston Globe, and U.S. News & World Report. George and Alan explore the new RAM 1500 Limited EcoDiesel that George has been driving. They are both impressed with the new upgrades and features of the truck. Wrapping up the show today is Brian Moody, Executive Editor for Autotrader.com. Brian and Alan chat about electric and hydrogen cars. What will be the next big thing? They talk about the hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo and the Toyota Mirai. They also discuss the unveiling of the Nissan 370Z and their excitement for the manual transmission it offers. Last but not least, they talked about the 10 Best Certified Pre-Owned vehicles under $30,000. Some of the vehicles on that list were the 2019 Lincoln MKZ, Acura RDX, Audi A4 and Lexus ES.
