Welcome back Gearheads! Another exciting week at SEMA Live Las Vegas, in the Hypertech booth. Joining Alan is Amy Faulk – World champion racer and CEO of Hypertech. A true pioneer for women in the racing industry. Amy says that SEMA isn’t just the show, it’s the icing. Working in the industry and making good products along with associating with great companies is what drives her passion for the car enthusiast industry. Up nest Larry Montonte – Vice President of Keystone Automotive and SEMA Board of Directors shares what Keystone is about and also shares why he wanted to be on the Board of Directors. He explains being in the industry, there is a lot of changes and challenges. It allows him to give back and listen to the concerns for the industry. Supplier and customer relationships are meaningful. Gary Patterson – President of Shelby American Inc, stops by as he and Alan spoke of Caroll Shelby and his vision for what was coming in the auto world as well as being an innovator. Shelby showcased an electric car in Ford Motor Booth this year. What is Shelby about? Performance! Jaclyn Sunseri – Vice President of Revenue and Sales at Hemmings joins Alan next as she talks about purchasing a 1981 Chevy Suburban K20. They restored and modified it and then was auctioned off to help with SEMA Cares. Jeff Baker – Director of Sales for SlipNOT stopped by to share what they are doing at SEMA. They make anti-slip floorings and coatings. It’s molten metal that is applied to metal surface. Extremely durable and flexible, great for trailers, running boards, steps, and beds. Up next is our long time contributor and friend BJ Killeen – Voice of Reason. She just stopped by share how much fun SEMA is this year. With all the extra room they are having more fun in the parking lot with burn outs, drifting and watching the new Bronco climb sets. She says it’s a thrill to be a part of this industry. Christian Robinson – Director of State and Government Affairs at SEMA PAC stops for a few minutes as he explains the importance of his role which is to be on the front line of protecting the wonderful industry and hobby from the Government. To ensure that the industry continues to thrive and making sure the government leaves the industry alone so they are able to make products that people want to put on their vehicles. Rebecca Starkey – Co-Owner of VMP Performance makes a brief introduction. She say’s the Bronco is the vehicle to beat at the SEMA show. She shares that VMP is in the performance industry that started off with tuning and evolved into a supercharger business. They are showcasing their superchargers at SEMA. Alan asked what really is VMP all about? Rebecca replies, ” We are built on innovation, going fast, and helping people get there!” President and Co-Founder of Austin Hatcher Foundation – Amy Jo Osborn joins Alan as she shares that they are showcasing 3 cars at SEMA that was built by their Industrial Arts sector. Austin Hatcher Foundation is based around children suffering from cancer, and has created ways and means for these children to be productive and live their lives to the fullest potential. A Ford Mach-E GT along with 2 kit cars, a Mark Ford Roadster and a Daytona Coupe ’65. Chad Coltrane – President and CEO of Victory Junction Camp stops by as he shares what they are all about. It’s a place where children with serious illness would be able to experience the joys of childhood and forget about being sick. It’s life changing camp experience that the child and their family can attend for free. Closing the show is Eva Rupert with Overland Expo Foundation. She shares that she is there to showcase a really cool Honda motorcycle that they built and is up for auction. Well, to all the gear heads, car junkies, and auto enthusiasts it’s been a blast.
