The “hot” topic of the hour is the insane news that California will ban purchasing internal combustion vehicles as of 2035.  This is the 3rd time they have threatened to do so.  Eleven states are planning to jump on the ban.  New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Washington by 2030, Connecticut, Oregon, New Jersey, Maryland, Colorado, Rhode Island, Minnesota, New Mexico, Virginia, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.  You will be able to buy used ICV’s, just not new.  All electric, hybrid, or hydrogen-powered is the goal to be 100% by 2035. Lauren Fix, Editor-in-Chief for Car Coach Reports joins Alan as she reiterates how the World Economic Forum wants to take away your vehicle, so Vote! It matters. Steven Cole Smith – Automotive Journalist for Autoweek, Automobile Magazine, and Grassroots Motorsports.  On Labor Day, US Nationals NHRA, the biggest drag race of the year will debut. Highlight: The Dodge Hemi’s shootout! Tony Stewart will be attending.  NASCAR was a washout at the Coke 400, as Austin Dylan won the playoff spots.  Formula 1 will run from Belgium to the Netherlands, and the week after will be at the Formula Grand Prix in Italy.  They briefly discuss the electric muscle car concept by Dodge. Its new  Charger will have more power than the Hellcat, with the style of its 1969 look. Dan Sandberg – Former President and CEO of Brembo Brakes North America, continues the discussion on how California is poised to phase out sales of new gas-power cars by 2035.  Studies have shown that only 6% of vehicles on the road are electric California already has a problem with power grids.  Dan says not gonna happen anytime soon. There aren’t enough vehicles to supply and electric cars are super expensive. It’s not sustainable. The Detroit National Auto Show will be on September 14th, as  Ford will unveil the new 2024 Mustang.  BJ Killeen -Automotive Journalist and Voice of Reason, says Hydrogen is the way to go, not electric, as Toyota, Hyundai, and Kia are working on hydrogen vehicles. BJ shares a little tidbit before the show ends. AND…. A town in Arkansas is no longer allowed to issue speeding tickets, for the next year.
